CAMDEN, N.J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers have paired startup business with basketball at their New Jersey headquarters.

The Sixers opened the door Tuesday to its 8,000-square foot lab space located at the base of their business operations facility in Camden. The innovation lab was designed to aid local startups and is managed by founder and former CEO of athletic apparel company AND1 Seth Berger.

The Sixers say the purpose of the lab is to provide mentorship, funding sources and resources for entrepreneurs.

The companies include:

  • U GIT GUD: An esports training platform providing professional, amateur and beginner esports players with assistance from top players from around the world. The company says it's the only esports training platform to analyze and quantify players' individual impact in team game play. The startup will debut a beta private platform in late July to support the popular game "League of Legends."

  • Live Life Nice: A cause-driven digital media company planning to highlight positive news in society.

  • Doc & Phoebe's Cat Co: A no-bowl feeding system for cats.

  • Monster Roster: Monster Roster is a daily fantasy sports lineup recommender that combines algorithms to help daily fantasy sports players build lineups for various FanDuel and DraftKings competitions.
