At one point in the season,Philadelphia 76ers guard JJ Redick didn't think the Sixers were going to make the playoffs -- so he scheduled to take the GMAT on a Saturday during the NBA playoffs.
Appearing on Bleacher Report's "The Full 48 with Howard Beck" podcast, Redick said that after a particularly tough stretch for the team in December he was making his own plans for the offseason.
"We were really bad in December up until Christmas, I think we lost 10 of 12 games during one stretch. And I signed up to take the GMAT on April 21, which was the first Saturday after the regular season ended," Redick said. "Obviously I had to cancel that because I was in Miami for Game 4."
Instead of taking a standardized test that is useful in trying to gain entry to an MBA program, Redick was working at his NBA day job and dropped a team-high 24 points in a victory over the Heat.
Redick, playing in his 12th season out of Duke, has averaged a career-high 17 points in his first season in Philadelphia.
