Breshad Perriman potentially facing season-ending surgery again, source says

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman suffered a partially torn ACL in his left knee and will visit Dr. James Andrews on Monday to determine if Perriman needs potential season-ending surgery, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Jamison Hensley.

The Ravens do not know the severity of the injury and believe the receiver could miss a couple of months or a full season, the source said. Perriman also missed all of 2015 with a knee injury.

Perriman was hurt catching the ball on a fade pattern in Thursday's offseason training activity, the source said. It was a non-contact injury.

On Friday, he complained about swelling, which led to an MRI and the diagnosis, the source said.

"I was just talking to Lardarius Webb about how good Breshad [Perriman] was looking and how we were looking forward to seeing him play this year," Ravens cornerbackShareece Wrighttold ESPN's Josina Anderson. "This was my first opportunity to actually see him in person since this is my first offseason with the Ravens. I just hope he recovers and the injury is not as bad when they look deeper."

It's the latest injury for the 2015 first-round pick out of Central Florida.

He hurt his right knee on the first day of 2015 training camp, which sidelined him eight weeks. He had been making progress in his return but then aggravated the knee again before a Week 3 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals, hurting it while trying to catch up to an overthrown deep pass.

Perriman ultimately had surgery on Oct. 1 to repair a partially torn posterior cruciate ligament. His absence was a blow for a Ravens, who had just one receiver (Kamar Aiken) catch more than 75 passes.
