The Boston Bruins acquired forward Zac Rinaldo from the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday in exchange for the Bruins' natural third-round pick in 2017.
Rinaldo, 25, has played in 223 NHL games with the Flyers and recorded eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points. He has recorded 572 penalty minutes.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward also appeared in 14 postseason games for Philadelphia, accumulating 64 penalty minutes. Last season, Rinaldo had one goal and five assists for six points, and had a team-high 102 penalty minutes in 58 games.
He has two years remaining on his contract, worth $850,000 per season.
