Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Nigel Bradham was arrested Sunday at Miami International Airport after authorities say TSA workers found a loaded gun in his backpack.
Bradham was taken into custody on a second degree misdemeanor concealed weapons charge after he put his backpack, which contained the firearm, through an X-ray machine, a Miami-Dade police report says.
Bradham was released later Sunday on $500 bail.
Per a TMZ report, officials said that "it was clear that there was no criminal intent on his part," but they had to arrest him since he is out on bond related to a summerarrest.
Bradham was arrested in late July after allegedly striking a Miami hotel employee after a verbal altercation. He told reporters Monday that he has a hearing this weekrelated to that alleged incident.
He made no mention, however, of this latest arrest.
"We are aware of the report regarding Nigel Bradham," the Eagles said in a statement. "We have been in communication with Nigel and the authorities regarding the situation. As it is a pending legal matter, we will have no further comment at this time."
