Bradford reportedly "hot" after Eagles trade up to No. 2 in 2016 NFL Draft

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford is not happy about the team's trade to acquire the second-overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

A source tells Schefter, "He's hot. Who wouldn't be? This is Philly saying, 'We don't see (you) as long-term answer.' He's mad and wants to show everyone who's best.'"

The Eagles announced the trade with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday.

In exchange for the second pick, the Eagles agreed to send the following to the Browns:

- 2016 first-round pick (No. 8 overall)

- 2016 third-round pick (No. 77 overall)

- 2016 fourth-round pick (No. 100 overall)

- 2017 first-round pick and a 2018 second-round pick.

The Eagles also acquired a 2017 fourth-round pick in the deal.

Right now, the Eagles don't yet know who they gave all the draft spots up for. The though is that the Rams, who hold the top pick, will take Cal QB Jared Goff, leaving the Eagles with North Dakota State's Carson Wentz - a guy who didn't even play Division 1 football.

At a press conference following the trade announcement, Howie Roseman, Eagles Executive of Football Operations, admitted he doesn't know who the Rams are taking. But his thinking is the Eagles need a future franchise quarterback, and next year's talent pool is so poor that he thinks the trade was worth the risk.

Roseman explains, "That's the only way you can make this trade is to be really comfortable with both of those guys. We've spent a ton of time investigating these guys, looking as well as what's out there going forward - looking at the quarterback market, not only this year, next year, in 2018 - and understanding that although this doesn't fit an immediate need, that this is a rare opportunity that we're in."

As for Bradford, Roseman told him about the move before practice on Wednesday.

Roseman says Bradford is the team's quarterback this year and is not for sale.

The last time the Eagles acquired a draft spot this high was in 1999, when they selected Donovan McNabb with the second overall pick.

The Eagles now have the following picks in this year's draft:

- 1st Round - No. 2 overall (from Cleveland)

- 3rd Round - No. 79 overall (from Detroit in 2015 trade)

- 5th Round - No. 153 overall

- 5th Round - No. 164 overall (from Pittsburgh in Brandon Boykin trade)

- 6th Round - No. 188 overall

- 7th Round - No. 233 overall

- 7th Round - No. 251 overall (From Arizona in Matt Barkley trade)
