Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Evgeny Medvedev is facing charges of drunken driving stemming from an April arrest.
Medvedev, 33, was stopped at 2:44 a.m. April 27 in Lower Moreland township in Pennsylvania after police say he was driving erratically. He is charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content above .16 percent,possession of a controlled substance and use or possession of drug paraphernalia.
The legal limit for drivers in the United States is .08 percent.
Medvedev's preliminary court appearance is scheduled for June 15.
He appeared in 45 games for the Flyers in 2015-16, his first NHL season. Medvedev scored four goals and had nine assists.
