Flyers' Mark Streit set for surgery

Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Mark Streit will be out six weeks due to a pelvic injury.

The team said Streit will have surgery Tuesday to repair a pubic plate detachment.

The 37-year-old Streit has three goals and six assists this season.

"It's been a week or so where he's been in some pain," general manager Ron Hextall said.

The Flyers called up defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere and left wing Taylor Leier from their AHL affiliate Saturday.
