Dez Bryant becomes the first wide receiver to ever lead the quarterly list that has been published since 2013. His quarterback Tony Romo and his new running back Ezekiel Elliott finished second and third, while tight end Jason Witten finished fifth behind Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Other rookies who made the list, besides Elliott, were Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz (No. 9), Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff (No. 14) and San Diego Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa (No. 42).
Oakland Raiders defensive end Kahlil Mack (No. 13), quarterback Derek Carr (No. 15) and wide receiver Amari Cooper (No. 16) appear in the top 20 of the list, a first for the franchise's players.
Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt remained the highest-ranked defensive player at No. 11.
