Allen Iverson was one of the greatest players in Philadelphia 76ers history, and his accolades were validated in September via his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
The Sixers celebrated that accomplishment on Friday during Allen Iverson Hall of Fame Night at Wells Fargo Center as Philadelphia hosted the Los Angeles Lakers.
The four-time NBA scoring champion greeted media before the game while donning his Hall of Fame ring at the podium. In fact, Iverson admitted that the only time he ever removes the jewelry is "when I get in the shower -- it's a part of my outfit now."
Iverson, 41, continued his night by taking the court and chatting with ESPN about a variety of topics, including today's NBA fashion and the modern culture of players sitting out games to rest.
Former Sixers president Pat Croce and Lou Williams, one of Iverson's former Philadelphia teammates, each found time to embrace the 2001 NBA MVP during warm-ups.
Nicknamed "The Answer" during his playing days, Iverson also received the opportunity to ring the replica Liberty Bell at midcourt prior to tipoff.
During a halftime ceremony, Julius "Dr. J" Erving presented Iverson with a Hall of Fame jacket amid MVP chants throughout the arena.
Despite standing just 6 feet tall, Iverson led the Sixers to an NBA Finals appearance in 2001 and finished his 17-year career in 2010 with averages of 26.7 PPG, 6.2 APG and 3.7 RPG.
