BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- The Pennsylvania Turnpike has reopened after a fuel truck that burst into flames was cleared in the eastbound lanes near Richlieu Road in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.
The incident happened around 7:15 Saturday morning in a construction zone.
Police say the driver noticed there was a problem and pulled over and got out just before the truck erupted into flames.
The truck was carrying 27,000 gallons of oil. The driver was not hurt.
Emergency crews and firefighters arrived on the scene.
Firefighters immediately began dousing the flames.
The blaze was placed under control within an hour.
The eastbound lanes of the Turnpike were closed for several hours, but have reopened.
