VIDEO: Car slams into Petco store in Bensalem
Police say a female driver lost control and slammed her car into a Petco store in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.

BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police say a female driver lost control and slammed her car into a Petco store in Bensalem, Pennsylvania.



The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the 2300 block of Street Road.



The impact of the crash injured a customer inside the store.



That person suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.



The driver was not hurt in the crash.



Police say the crash broke open a cricket cage and crickets got out and were everywhere inside the store.



L & I officials were called to the scene to check the stability of the building.



Shattered glass and crumbled cinder-blocks were left on the sidewalk.



At the time of the crash a local rescue organization was holding an adoption event inside the store.



Fortunately, there were no animals injured.



The rescue group and manager of the Petco store had no comments for Action News.



The store closed for the rest of the day and caution tape was placed outside the building.



The crash remains under investigation.
