OLD CITY (WPVI) -- A tractor trailer jackknifed at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge, and sat there for four-and-a-half hours in Old City.
The accident was reported shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities opted to wait until rush hour was over to remove the flipped semi from the westbound lanes.
That operation still ended up causing headaches for some drivers at 6:30 p.m. when crews blocked off all the exit ramps to Center City, I-676 and I-95 while the wrecker tow trucks finally uprighted the semi.
No injuries were reported.
According to the DRPA, the tractor trailer did not spill its load and everything was contained.
