ROXBOROUGH (WPVI) -- A broken water main flooded a street in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia.
The break was reported around 6:30 a.m. Friday in the 6900 block of Fowler Street.
A Philadelphia Water Dept. spokesman told Action News the 8-inch main actually began leaking on Wednesday.
Officials decided to let the water to continue flowing so service to customers would not be interrupted during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The main finally ruptured Friday morning.
Crews arrived sometime after 7:30 a.m. and shut off the water, leaving homes on the block without water service.
There was no immediate word the break would be repaired.
