AccuWeather: Spring starts mild with rain arriving Thursday evening in the Philadelphia region

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A cold front moves through the area later Thursday, bringing rain, gusty winds, and cooler temperatures for Friday.

THURSDAY (SPRING BEGINS): Patchy morning fog. It's another very mild day, but we have mostly cloudy skies with some occasional breaks during the afternoon, high 69.

Winds kick up ahead of a cold front gusting up to 40 mp, with showers developing by the evening.

Showers move in west to east bringing up to 3/4" of rain. A gusty thunderstorm can't be ruled out. Most of the activity moves offshore around midnight.

FRIDAY: It's noticeably cooler, with plenty of sunshine, high 53. Winds will be gusting to 40-45 mph, which will keep wind chills in the 30s during the morning and in the 40s through the afternoon.

SATURDAY: Partly sunny and milder, high 62.

SUNDAY: Sunshine followed by increasing clouds, high 50.

MONDAY: Periods of rain early with lingering clouds during the afternoon, high 60.

TUESDAY: Clouds, some sun, high 52.

WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny with a cool breeze, high 52.
