AccuWeather: Many systems to track between now and the new year

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It will be a wet stretch ahead as we are tracking three storms before we ring in the new year.

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and chilly, low 25.

FRIDAY: Sunshine will mix with high cirrus clouds with a high of 43, which is exactly average. Rain for most and that light freezing rain far NW (Lehigh Valley) moves in well after dark on Friday. A Winter Weather Advisory is posted for Lehigh and Northampton counties on north into the Poconos from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday.

SATURDAY: Light rain continues through the day making for a damp and dreary start to the weekend. Temps in the 40s during the day rise to near 50 in the evening.

SUNDAY: This is when the more potent part of the system moves through and we will see a period of heavy rain. This may happen as early as Sunday afternoon or could wait more into Sunday night. The earlier parts of the day probably don't have much in the way of precipitation with strong southerly winds. High of 60.

MONDAY: Some showers early, then clearing, high 58.

TUESDAY (NEW YEAR'S EVE): Another rather cloudy day with rain arriving late, high 53.

WEDNESDAY: Chance for rain early in the day, otherwise mostly cloudy. High 51.
