Amtrak train service restored between Philadelphia and NYC; residual delays expected

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Amtrak says service has been restored between Philadelphia and New York after a GPS server issue halted trains Friday morning.

The issue was resolved at about noon, but residual delays are expected, according to a post on social media.


The initial issue first halted trains at about 9:30 a.m.

Some New Jersey Transit and SEPTA services were also impacted.

For Amtrak traveling assistance, passengers should call or text 1-800-USA-RAIL.
