The Trump administration is seeking to rename Manhattan's Penn Station
AAA predicts more than 21,000 Philadelphia-area residents will travel by other modes of transportation -- like a bus, train, or ship.
The DOT will have an open design competition starting this October through May of 2026 which will determine the final design of the station.
It's not exactly a bullet train: Amtrak's schedules show the NextGen Acela runs slower than the existing Acela.
It's because Amtrak would lose $71 million in annual payments from SEPTA, which leases the lines.
The new Acela can reach a maximum speed of 160 miles per hour. That's 10 miles per hour faster than the current fleet.
