After the singer postponed three recent shows, fans waited eagerly outside Wells Fargo Center -- some arrived early before the doors opened at 6:30 p.m.
"It got a little scary -- sickness in the band -- you know we didn't know what was going on. But here we are now. We got here early, maybe fourth car in the lot," said Mike Hopkins of Jamison, Pennsylvania.
"It's a perfect day. It's a Bruce Springsteen kind of day," added Harry Puulos, of East Norriton.
Many fans were concerned after the postponements, but there was no disappointment Thursday night.
For Will Towle, it's his 112th time seeing Bruce.
"My first show was in 1984," said Towle of Haslett.
This is the first time the E Street Band has been on tour since early 2017.
Last month, the band announced the addition of two stops in the City of Brotherly Love.
They will play at Citizens Bank Park on Wednesday, August 16 and Friday, August 18.
