Police responded to the city's Fairhill section at the 3200 block of North Fairhill Street, near Allegheny Avenue, just after 8:30 p.m. for a shooting on the highway.
When they arrived, officers discovered at least 70 shots were fired.

According to investigators, seven men between the ages of 19 and 38 were struck by gunfire and taken to the hospital. Five victims were transported by officers.

Roger Marquez, 31, and Leon Pierre, 38, were shot multiple times and later died at the hospital.
A 30-year-old man, a 33-year-old man, a 34-year-old man and a 19-year-old man are all said to be in critical condition after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. Another 33-year-old man is in stable condition.

Interim Police Commissioner John Stanford said several firearms were recovered.
A motive for the shooting is still being determined but narcotics were found at the scene, Stanford added.
