PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a shooting in Philadelphia's Hunting Park section. It happened right in the middle of the afternoon at an intersection full of cars. Police are still working to sort out what led to this shooting.

Action News obtained surveillance video showing the situation unfold in broad daylight.

"It was a rapid-fire shooting. It sounded like they had a switch on their gun," said a witness.

Surveillance video captured the moments at Erie Avenue and 2nd Street Saturday afternoon. Surveillance video showed the shooter step out of a car, then open fire. Debris flew off the vehicle that was hit.

Immediately, drivers in the area scrambled to get away, some backing up, others making sudden U-turns. The driver of the targeted vehicle appeared to run from the scene and was not struck. Moments later, the getaway car sped off.

The Action Cam arrived shortly after the shooting that happened at 1:30 p.m. Several cars were damaged, and evidence markers littered the street.

"They did find 24 casings, and bullets do not have names," said the witness.

Action News spoke to a man who was too shaken to show his face on camera.

"Traumatizing, actually," he said.

He said he's had enough of the gun violence plaguing the area.

"It's not safe. This neighborhood is getting worse every day," he added.

Action News reached out to police for more details, but so far they have not released additional information.
