Flores-Diaz was killed just before 9 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2025, as he returned home from work. Surveillance video shows a gunman approach his car and fire multiple shots while Flores-Diaz sat in the driver's seat, parked outside his residence on the 800 block of George Street.

When Norristown police arrived, they found a white Volkswagen CC still running with its headlights on. Flores-Diaz was inside the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds to his head and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the video shows the shooter walking to the area and waiting in a nearby stairwell for about five minutes before Flores-Diaz arrived. After Flores-Diaz parked, the gunman ran across the street, fired through the driver's side window and fled north on George Street.
Detectives are asking the public to closely examine images of the suspect captured on surveillance video. He is seen wearing what police describe as a distinctive blue backpack and has a walk investigators say is also distinctive. Authorities believe someone may recognize him.
Flores-Diaz is survived by his wife, son and brother. In the year since his death, his family has prayed the Rosary nightly, seeking strength and answers.
"It's a terrible thing. His life was taken at a young age for no reason. He wasn't troublesome," said his cousin, Michael Bastida.
No arrests have been made. Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the shooter.
Police urge anyone who recognizes the backpack, the suspect's walk or has any information about the case to come forward.
