The coyote, which was "recently put down by police," tested positive for rabies, the police department posted on social media on Wednesday.
Last week, police said they recieved multiple reports about an aggressive coyote in the Wyncote section of the Township, near Curtis Park, Hopeland Rd., Washington Lane and Rock Creek Drive.
Officers tried searching the area, including using drones, but were unable to find the animal.
Then, police said they got another report of the coyote attacking a resident and a dog at the Curtis Dog Park.
When police arrived, officers were able to kill the animal, which was sent to the Pennsylvania Game Commission for rabies testing.
If you or your pet had recent contact with any coyote, officials say you should seek medical or veterinary care immediately.
Officials say rabies can be transmitted through contact with an infected animal's saliva, including through bites or scratches.
Pets that are not current on rabies vaccinations are especially at risk, officials added.
Local officials are working with the Pennsylvania Game Commission on monitoring the area.

Residents are also asked to alert police if you see any wildlife acting erratically.
