Delaware Governor Matt Meyer has signed immediate property tax relief and reform in response to complaints following the mandatory statewide property reassessment.
They hadn't been updated since the 70s and 80s, so some tax bills spiked.
Meyer signed six bills.
The legislation includes refunds for property owners who overpaid, options for flexible payment plans, and allows school districts in New Castle County to revise tax rates for this coming school year by setting separate residential and non-residential tax rates.
