Judge grants injunction to shutter speakeasy after off-duty officer shot and killed

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A judge has granted the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office's request for an injunction to shut down an alleged illegal speakeasy where an off-duty police officer was shot and killed.

Officer Alhassane Barry was fatally shot last month at Nipsey's Hookah Lounge on the 7200 block of Elmwood Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia.

Barry was a two-year veteran of the force.

Investigators say video from inside the lounge shows the off-duty officer and a man arguing inside before the confrontation escalated outside.

No charges have been filed.

In a news conference last week, D.A. Larry Krasner said a gun believed to be involved in the shooting was being tested.
