CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- History was made on Wednesday night in the City of Chester.
Katrina Blackwell took the oath of office as the new police commissioner.
She is the first woman to lead the Chester Police Department.
The Chester native and 20-year veteran of the department has been serving as interim commissioner following the retirement of former Commissioner Steven Gretzky earlier this year.
