SPRINGFIELD TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- The National Transportation Safety Board has determined the most likely cause of an incident in which live wires fell onto a SEPTA trolley last year in Delaware County.
The incident occurred on Sept. 25 near the Scenic Road Station in Springfield Township.
In a report, the NTSB said SEPTA's failure to inspect the overhead wire system prevented the identification of unsafe conditions.
The Route 101 trolley operator and 10 passengers were injured when the live wires fell onto the trolley.
The NTSB's findings identify deficiencies in the inspection of the overhead wire system as the most likely cause of the incident.
