PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- At least two suspects are being sought in connection with a shooting in North Philadelphia that left a man dead and a young boy injured.

It happened around 6:19 p.m. Friday on the 600 block of North 12th Street.

Police say a 33-year-old man was walking on 12th Street near Fairmount Avenue when at least two gunmen opened fire.

The man ran to a nearby Hyundai vehicle to seek cover. Inside the car was a 9-year-old boy and another adult male, but that didn't stop the suspects from firing.

Investigators say the 33-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died at the hospital.
