The festivities started with a free concert and "All-Star Declaration" at Dilworth Park.
"Philadelphia, it is time to get ready for a celebration like no other," said Phillies broadcaster Tom McCarthy.

That celebration will bring baseball's biggest stars to Citizens Bank Park for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game.
"Right here in Philadelphia," declared Mayor Cherelle Parker.

At the event, the Roots put on a free show for the packed park of Phillies fans and the team's legendary all-stars across decades, fromGreg "the Bull" Lusinski to Ryan Howard, lined the stage.
The Midsummer Classic is now on a growing list of events that will take place in the city next year.
"History is embedded in the DNA of Philadelphia. The list of historical events and important firsts that have occurred in our great city is long and proud," said Phillies owner John Middleton.
This game will happen on the heels of America's 250th birthday.
The city celebrated the "All-Star Declaration" with a tour bus featuring Bryce Harper, the Phanatic and more Phillies legends.
"Seeing all the players that are gonna be here, that's gonna be cool," said 11-year-old Tristan Peitzman from Bethlehem.
Phillies fans, who picked up merch at the fan store and waved their new towels, say they can't wait for next summer.
"Amazing. Everybody gonna be down here July 14th, 2026," said Wade Jackson from North Philadelphia.
The second half of the season kicks off Friday evening at the Bank, with Mike Trout and the Angels in town. The Phillies hold a small lead in first place, and there are questions about what's to come this season.
The speculation is building before the trade deadline in two weeks.
Bryce Harper is off the injured list, and the team needs him as they mount a run to the World Series.
Kyle Schwarber's contract is up at the end of the season- will he be re-signed? Many fans hope to see more Schwarbombs in the Home Run Derby next summer in Philadelphia.
