The "Shark Tank" casting team will be in the Event Center at Rivers Philadelphia in Fishtown starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 11.
"All it takes, really, is just one good idea," said Mindy Zemrak.
Zemrak has been casting the show since Season 1.
"All you have to do is show up. If you don't have an application on the day, we'll give it to you on site. You'll just give us a one minute pitch. If you don't have something prepared or memorized, that's okay. It's like we're having coffee," she said.
And as they come to Philly to cast Season 17, she has some pro tips for the area entrepreneurs.
"Know your numbers. Let us know how your business or product is different from others. Your energy and excitement and your passion really does help you, so being charismatic and being able to tell us about your journey," she said. "And then that goes into our last point, which is a backstory you have - 99% of people and entrepreneurs have created a business or product because of something that happened in their their story of life and so we want to get to know that as well, because that's just as important to to us as their product itself."
Applications are available online at ABC.com and on-site.
Contestants may begin lining up at 8 a.m. on the morning of the casting call. Numbered wristbands will be distributed between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and the first pitches will begin at approximately 10 a.m.
