JACKSON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Take a walk on the wild side among exotic animals for a thrilling spring break adventure. Six Flags' Wild Safari and Savannah Sunset resort opens for the season on Friday, April 3rd.

The theme park's animal educators stopped by our 6abc studios this week and brought some furry and scaly friends along with them to give us a peek at what people can expect when they visit this season.

"We have Bam Bam and Lucille. They are special guests from Wild Safari. You can typically see them at our base camp, which will open to our guests on April 3rd," said Ryan Eldredge, Public Relations Manager for Six Flags in the East Region.

Action News Anchor Alyana Gomez got well acquainted with Bam Bam the lizard and Lucille the ball python, letting the snake slither around her arm.

Luna the great horned owl is blind in one eye and can no longer fly, but she is a rare beauty.

Meanwhile, Rico Slothy was the real show stopper that day!

"He is a two-toed sloth, and they move real slow. There is no fast pace on them. They move slow, eat slow - they're so slow that they go to the bathroom once a week," said Raymond Yassa, Animal curator at Six Flags.

It wouldn't be a Six Flags adventure without conquering a fear, whether it's rollercoasters, water slides, or coming face to face with a big, hairy tarantula.

Alyana conquered her fear of spiders by holding that tarantula in her trembling hands!

You can conquer your fears too, starting March 28 th when Six Flags Great Adventure opens for the season.

The Wild Safari Spring break celebration kicks off Easter weekend with live entertainment and immersive animal encounters.
