PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A woman was injured in a road rage shooting on Temple University's campus on Friday evening.

It happened around 5:30 p.m. when police say two drivers were shooting at each other near Broad Street and Montgomery Avenue in North Philadelphia.

Police say a 22-year-old woman was grazed in the leg while sitting in the passenger's seat of one of the vehicles.

She was taken to Temple University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported, but a bus for a visiting sports team that was parked nearby was struck by gunfire, according to Temple University's statement on the incident.

Detectives placed at least 13 evidence markers at the scene.

"With the number of people walking up and down this area and it being rush hour traffic, we're very lucky only one individual was injured," said Philadelphia Police First Deputy Commissioner John Stanford.

Due to the increased police presence in the area to prevent looting and violence this weekend, officers were quick to respond and arrest both drivers.

"We've been in a heavy deployment for the past few days, and we have officers at this location. Our officers were able to make two apprehensions and recover two firearms that were involved in this incident," Stanford said.

Investigators say two drivers were taken into custody. They have not been identified.

Police hope the extra patrols decrease problems across the city.

The individuals involved in this incident were not Temple students.
