Dave Chappelle fans lined up to get inside the Wells Fargo Center Friday night.

On Saturday and Sunday, the event features Philadelphia's own Eve and Lil Uzi Vert. Eight-time Grammy Award winner Usher is also part of the lineup alongside Ms. Lauryn Hill and The Roots.

"It's chill, it's a vibe," said Alexis Andrews from Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania. "It's definitely a vibe."

Organizers say Roots Picnic is about much more than music and concerts, it's a curated event that brings so much to the city, especially to local businesses.

"Just sitting here, this is like a premium location because everyone has to walk by you," said Chef Steven Parr with Dr. Brownies.

The Dr. Brownies food truck capitalized off the festival's boost in business, with one truck inside the event and one outside.

"It's my favorite time, one of my favorite times of the year. It's just a great chance to be a true Philadelphian and do a little brotherly love. Get out and be one with everyone else," said Parr.

This is the 15th Roots Picnic hosted in Philadelphia, and fans traveled from near and far to get to the show.

"Lauryn Hill, I love the Roots, I grew up with the Roots," said Jaronda Williams from Gainesville, Florida.

The show continues on Sunday night for the final send-off of the celebrations.
