That suspect, who has been identified as Elijah Crump, 25, was taken into custody at 51st and Arch streets in Philadelphia by SEPTA Transit Police.
The stabbing happened at about 9:15 a.m. near the fare gates for the Market-Frankford Line. Authorities said the victim, a 20-year-old man, was stabbed in the neck.

Police said the suspect and victim knew each other and were either coming or going from the Market Frankford Line.
SEPTA police released a photo of the suspect who was wearing a green jacket with a hood and was holding what appeared to be a knife.
"We have a witness inside that said the two males were together. They were talking, an argument ensued and the one male stabbed the other," said Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt, with Upper Darby police.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in critical condition and was undergoing surgery. He has not yet been identified.
The 69th Street Terminal was shut down for hours while police investigated.
