Police: Wanted carjacking, robbery suspects arrested after barricade in Philadelphia

The teens, ages 18 and 14, were reportedly armed at the time of the arrests.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have arrested two teenage suspects who were wanted for multiple carjackings and robberies, including two Wawa locations in Upper Darby, Delaware County.

A traffic stop was initiated Saturday around 8 p.m. near the corner of Broad and Wallace streets after officers recognized one of the teens believed to be involved in a recent carjacking.

The teens, ages 18 and 14, were reportedly armed at the time they were pulled over.

Police say the 14-year-old suspect fled the vehicle but was arrested after a foot pursuit.

The 18-year-old driver fled to a nearby property on the 1300 block of Wallace Street, investigators said.

The driver was later arrested by SWAT officers after a brief barricade situation.

Officers found a loaded weapon with 15 live rounds inside the home.

Charges are pending against both teenagers.

The teens were also allegedly involved in two armed robberies at Wawa stores in Upper Darby: one on Tuesday at the store on West Chester Pike and a second incident last Saturday on State Road.

No injuries were reported in both incidnets.

Philadelphia police are now working to determine whether the teens were involved in any additional carjackings or robberies in the region.

The suspects have not been identified.
