Daughters of the American Revolution restore patriots' graves in New Jersey

Updated 3 hours ago
BURLINGTON, New Jersey (WPVI) -- The blood of our revolutionary ancestors lives among us with more than 100,000 active 'daughters' dedicated to preserving history and promoting education.

'Daughters of the American Revolution' (DAR) was founded in 1890 and has a storied history of promoting patriotism in the United States.

The DAR Moorestown chapter, founded in 1917, has embarked on a mission to honor local patriots during America's 250th celebration.

They created a spreadsheet of graves across Burlington County with the intention of honoring each one by 2033.

Their flagship effort has been cleaning and marking graves at St. Mary's Episcopal Churchyard in Burlington.

Watch the video above to see how they're keeping their ancestors' legacies alive.
