1 dead, 2 injured in shooting outside Hunting Park club

An early morning gun battle in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia has left one man dead and two others wounded, including the suspect.

It happened around 4 a.m. Sunday outside the A Lounge and Social Club on the 4200 block of Macalester Street.

Investigators said a 27-year-old man shot a 39-year-old man in the face and chest following an argument.

Arriving officers reported finding a 39-year-old man in the street with blood on his face and chest. He was rushed to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly after. A 24-year-old man shot twice in the neck was also taken to a hospital.

Police said a club security guard opened fire on the 27-year-old suspect, who was shot multiple times in the left thigh and taken to a hospital..

The 39-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect remains hospitalized and faces murder charges.
