A healthy diet and exercise can help reduce your risk for heart disease, and so can some simple yoga moves.

Certified yoga therapist Judi Bar at the Cleveland Clinic says poses that open the chest will help relieve tension and stress.

She recommends sitting on the edge of a chair, reach back with both arms and lean forward while pressing your shoulders back gently.

Hold the pose for three to five breaths.

Poses like this can help lower blood pressure and help calm the mind, officials say.

"We're focusing on what we're doing. For instance, focusing on a balancing pose," said Bar. "It helps to calm the nervous system, which generally will help that blood pressure - at least slightly."
