Crime Fighters: $20,000 reward offered in shooting death of James Walke III

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- Yullio Robbins remembers her son, James Walke III, fondly.

"He was a special young man, lovable, outgoing," said Robbins, mother.

On Feb. 23, Robbins says her son told her he was heading out that afternoon around 2.

"He had went to Germantown to meet a friend who was at Wayne and Seymour streets," said Robbins.

But she says that friend never showed.

"James started walking down Seymour Street - West Seymour Street - and someone was waiting for him at Seymour and Royal streets," said Robbins.

Robbins says that "someone" approached Walke.

"The guy pulled out a pistol and started firing at James and chased James across the street, and james fell and the guy, the shooter, stood over top of my son and shot him 12 times," said Robbins.

Robbins says a neighbor heard her son pleading for his life.

"The neighbor said my son kept saying, 'I didn't do it man, I didn't do it man.' He had his hands up trying to tell this shooter he didn't do it," said Robbins. "He was definitely set up. He was really set up."

The 28-year-old died a short time later at the hospital. He leaves behind two sons, ages 8 and 9.

"I can see in their eyes how much they miss their dad, and how much I miss my son," said Robbins.

The City of Philadelphia is offering up to $20,000 as a reward for anyone that comes forward with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
