Atlantic City Police arrest two for allegedly selling pipe bomb supplies, guns and ammo: John Rawlins reports on Action News at 5 p.m., October 10, 2017 (WPVI)

Atlantic City police have arrested two people they said have been selling improvised explosives to anyone who was willing to pay up.

Action News is learning more about how police and the FBI busted their selling scheme.

Officials said on October 5, Police heard about some individuals who were interested in selling a mix of munitions. They reached out to the FBI task force and then made an undercover buy, allegedly netting them the makings of five pipe bombs, a .30-06 rifle and more than 300 rounds of ammunition.

Police arrested 37-year-old Danielle Demers, also known as Daniel Smith, of Atlantic City and 31-year-old Nina House of Margate last Thursday.

According to officials, it appears neither had a political agenda, they just wanted to sell the material for the five bombs and the high powered Savage Arms rifle for cash.

"At the present time we do not believe that there were any plans by these two individuals to either set these bombs off or to use the rifle, but the investigation is still ongoing," said Chief Henry White of the Atlantic City Police Department.

Police said nothing at this time leads them to believe that these individuals are tied to terrorism.

"But we are very concerned about the destructive nature of these devices, and the damage they could've caused if they got out there," said Capt. James Sarkos, Atlantic City Police Department. "Our investigation revealed that they were actively trying to sell these things to anyone who would give them money."

Both suspects were charged with the unlawful possession of a destructive device and the unlawful sale of a firearm, among other offenses.
