PARKSIDE (WPVI) -- A trail of destruction was left behind after a deadly ambush at a Philadelphia gas station overnight.

Police were called to the scene at the intersection of North 52nd Street and Lancaster Avenue in the city's Parkside section around 2:30 a.m. Saturday for reports of a person with a gun.

When they arrived to the scene they found a 38-year-old man shot multiple times inside of a parked car.

Police say the victim was sitting in a pickup truck in the parking lot of an A Plus gas station and minimart when someone approached the vehicle and opened fire on the truck at least 19 times, striking the victim six times. After the shooting, police say the truck rolled across the parking lot and hit a utility pole.

Police took the man to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

So far, police have no motives or suspects in the shooting.
