TIOGA-NICETOWN (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating after a woman's body was found partially inside a trash bag in the Tioga-Nicetown section.

A passerby made the discovery before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday under a train trestle on the 1800 block of Westmoreland Street.

The cause of death has not yet been determined, but authorities say the partially-clothed woman had signs of trauma, including wounds to her face and neck.

The case is being treated as a homicide.

"Detectives still have to do a lot of traditional detective work, find out who she was last seen with, who last seen her alive, and find out who she was with," said Capt. John Ryan.

We spoke with people who live nearby. They say it's crimes like these that remove any feeling you have of security in your neighborhood.

"I'm concerned about myself because I walk over here, I walk with my dog, stuff like that, so it is scary. Really scary," said Tanikka Chappell.

"I wouldn't think that this would go on down the street from my house. This is crazy. This is scary," said Jennifer Allen.
