"A Girl Like Her" is a documentary style drama that tells the firsthand story of a high school girl's struggle with bullying.

The documentary style film "A Girl Like Her" hits theaters today.

The drama tells the firsthand story of a high school girl's struggle with bullying.

Actress Hunter King, whose mother is from Philadelphia, plays Avery, the bully.

We had a chance to chat with her about the much buzzed about film and she says she hopes this film reaches anyone who is or has been bullied and is looking for help.

"For anybody that's being bullied, I really want them to tell people because other people have life experience they know to handle this type of situation that you might know how or they can even put a stop to it, " says King.

Because of the documentary format, Hunter got to shoot parts of the movie on her own and she says that gives a sense of realism to the audience.

It's a reality she says is sadly a part of many high school student's experience and she wants them to know they are not alone.

"A Girl Like Her" is rated PG-13.
