Bristol Palin found herself at the center of media spotlight after canceling her wedding a week ago. Now, the former Dancing With The Stars finalist and daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has broken her silence.

In a new blog post published on Tuesday, Bristol Palin addressed the "elephant in the room" since canceling her May 23 wedding to U.S. Marine and Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

"I guess you have seen by now that the wedding - that was supposed to happen last weekend - was called off. I'm sure you've seen this has been all over the media, but this is a painful time for family and friends and I would just really appreciate your prayers.

I know God's plan is greater than anything else, and Tripp and I are in Alaska beginning to rebuild our lives under much different circumstances than we anticipated."

Thank you for all of your love and support.

Sarah Palin posted on Facebook on May 18 announcing that Bristol and Dakota's wedding had been called off. The post also included a message from Bristol addressing rumors that her fiance had "secret wives."
