PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Elijah Wood and Rose Leslie stopped by the 6abc studios Thursday to chat about their new film "The Last Witch Hunter", also starring action star Vin Diesel.

The duo are no strangers to fantasy, action and a taste of the supernatural.

"It's a supernatural thriller, so its for anyone who loves the action packed adventure. There's a lot of fighting involved and we get to see a lot of pretty gnarly witches," said Leslie.

It's a genre that's more than familiar to "Lord of the Rings" alum Elijah Wood and "Game of Thrones" breakout star Rose Leslie.

"Well we love a bit of fantasy one of our fave genres," said Leslie

"We have a bit of pedigree in that genre I suppose," said Wood.

But unlike the wildly popular productions of their past, both actors tell me what drew them to "The Last Witch Hunter" is that it's a fresh franchise for everyone.

"It was an original that was the main appeal. There are no video games backing it or books I suppose - it was a new concept," said Leslie.

Elijah Wood has grown up in the industry and been acting since he's 8-years-old. He says the mystical, edge of your seat fantasy in this film is kind of how he approaches his life and his career

"I really don't know what's around the bend and I like that I don't make a lot of plans in regards to the work that I do," said Wood. "And I don't overthink. I am always surprised."

This is Leslie's first feature film. She says "Game of Thrones" was a perfect springboard for these cool and complicated roles coming her way.

"But you know, she's gotta have bite otherwise what a dull person to play," said Leslie.

In this film, she plays Chloe - who can access people's minds.

"It's probably what people would want to have as a superpower. Imagine knowing people's thought's? You would become a paranoid wreck," said Leslie.

"The Last Witch Hunter" hits theaters on Friday, October 23 - just in time for Halloween.
