The Motown record label may have been born in Detroit, Michigan, but its impact on the landscape of music was felt nationwide.

All of the huge hits of the 60's and 70's are coming back to the Kimmel Center, from its humble beginnings and how Berry Gordy brought the talent together.

Program Director Fran Egler:

"The record label that brought the artist to the forefront but its the story of one man who was the driving force behind all of that because he had the right creative people working with him."

The songs were hand-selected by Gordy himself. It's an amazing collection - from the Marvellettes to the Four Tops. The show will have you dancing in your seats, but Egler hopes you'll learn a little history along the way.

"It's an amazing story told with great great songs you'll know and love. This is good solid song writing and produced and performed with a lot of the energy and love. I think people will like it a lot. "
