Canadian woman billed $1M after giving birth in US

A Canadian family was billed nearly $1 million dollars after giving birth to their daughter during a vacation in the United States.

Their happy and healthy daughter, 11-month-old Reece, could be considered a million dollar baby.

Little Reece surprised her Canadian parents by coming nine weeks early while they were vacationing in Hawaii.

The preemie had to spend the next two months in intensive care.

Before taking their trip, mom Jennifer Huculak purchased travel insurance from Blue Cross and got the okay from her doctor.

But now, Blue Cross is refusing to pay a cent of the $950,000 medical bill.

They claim a bladder infection, which was treated in Huculak's 4th month, counted as a pre-existing condition.

The family now says they're trying to decide whether to fight Blue Cross, declare bankruptcy, or wait and see what happens
