A mother, accused of leaving her husband because their child was born with Down syndrome, is speaking out.

Baby Leo was born with Down Syndrome in Armenia.

Doctors told the parents they could keep him or give him to foster care.

His dad Samuel Forrest claims his wife divorced him because he wanted to keep their son.

Now the child's mother Ruzan Badalyan is refuting those claims.

She said she never gave her husband an ultimatum.

She says, she simply wanted to move to a different country to raise the boy where he might have a better future.

Badalyan says her husband abandoned her during the hardest decision of her life and took their son to New Zealand.

Forrest told reporters he is open to a possible reunion with his wife.
