Glitz Studio brings fairytales to life

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- For anyone with a little girl who dreams of being a princess, you don't have to bip down to the Bippity Boppity Boutique in Disney World for your daughter to feel like Cinderella.

Inspired by her own little girl, a South Philadelphia salon owner created a special space to throw birthday parties that are royally unique.

It's called Glitz Studio, and for little girls it is like a fairy tale come to life.

Owner Carol DiPietro tells us, "I always wanted to create a space where little girls can come and feel like they had a salon all their own."

The studio specializes in birthday parties where the birthday girl and her friends get the royal treatment.

DiPietro says, "We do their hair, their makeup, we dress them up in princess outfits, tiaras, wings and everything."

And if being a princess isn't your cup of tea, how about a rock star diva complete with temporary glitter tattoos?

Glitz also gets girls ready for special events. Everything from kindergarten graduation to Sweet 16, or you can treat your little princess to a day at the spa.

"And the parents love it because it's pretty much we do everything. I have a lot of parents say 'should I bring?' We do everything - don't bring anything! And the mom's love it," DiPietro said.

There are fun stations too where the girls can make their own lip gloss or sugar scrub sundaes.

DiPietro explains, "So you can be Cinderella for a day or any princess you want to be...and leave here all glammed up."

Right now Glitz Studio is right below Salon DiPietro. So while the little ones are getting primped, moms and dads can book appointments too!
