Bra sticker designed to prevent sexual assault
Bra sticker designed to prevent sexual assault: Alicia Vitarelli reports during Action News at 4:30 p.m. on August 10, 2017.

It's the latest safety gadget for women: an undergarment that promises to be your best defender against attack.

The product is called Intrepid and it's a bra sticker that can detect forcible touch in real-time.

It's the brainchild of an MIT scientist. The electronic sticker detects touch and if it senses something more aggressive than usual, it sends out an alert to your network of friends and family.

The Intrepid is connected to your phone via Bluetooth and can attach to any piece of clothing.

There are levels of response, starting with a notification sent to your phone if it suspects something is awry or unusual.

If you don't respond, an alarm goes off. Lastly, your safety circle gets notified.

The idea is to help assault or rape victims in real-time.
